Are you an experienced and passionate Primary Teacher with experience as a Intervention Teacher looking to make a lasting impact in a vibrant primary school in Southwark?

We are currently supporting a primary school in their search for a skilled Intervention Teacher to join their team on a temporary contract, with a focus on providing tailored interventions for Year 6 pupils in preparation for the SATs.

This role will involve delivering high-quality interventions in English and Maths to ensure pupils achieve their potential in the lead-up to the Year 6 SATs. If you have a strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and experience in working with children who require additional support, we'd love to hear from you!

Intervention Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored interventions in English and Maths for Year 6 pupils to boost their preparation for SATs.
  • Focus on small group work, offering targeted support to help pupils develop key skills and raise their attainment.
  • Use formative assessments to track pupil progress and adapt interventions to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teachers and SENCo to identify children who require additional support.
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive environment that promotes learning and confidence.
  • Provide regular feedback to the senior leadership team and contribute to tracking pupil progress.

Intervention Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching KS2 pupils, especially in Year 6.
  • A sound understanding of the Year 6 SATs curriculum for English and Maths.
  • Proven experience in delivering interventions or small group teaching.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage children.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with a genuine passion for helping pupils succeed.
  • Experience in differentiating teaching methods to meet the needs of a range of learners.
