About the Role:
As an English Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, individually and in small groups, supporting their literacy skills and helping them to achieve their potential. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about education and enjoys seeing students grow in confidence and ability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Literacy Skills Development: Help students with reading, writing, and comprehension to strengthen their literacy skills.
- Work with Students Individually and in Small Groups: Provide targeted assistance to students who benefit from focused literacy intervention.
- Assist with Lesson Planning and Preparation: Work closely with teachers to support lesson plans and activities in the English department.
- Track and Report on Student Progress: Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to teachers to adjust intervention strategies as needed.
- Encourage a Positive Learning Environment: Foster an encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to engage and succeed.
Requirements:
- DBS on the Update Service: A current DBS check is essential to begin immediately.
- Passion for Literacy and Education: No prior child-based experience is required, but a strong interest in working with young people and supporting their literacy skills is essential.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to build rapport with students and work effectively with teaching staff.
