Cover Supervisor - Clacton / Tendring
Full-Time | Secondary School | Long-Term Opportunity
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a confident and engaging Cover Supervisor to join a secondary school in Clacton, helping keep lessons moving, pupils focused and the school day running smoothly.
This role provides the structure, consistency and support that allows pupils to engage with their learning and achieve their potential.
No two days are the same. One lesson may be English, the next Science, followed by Maths, History or PE. Working across a variety of subjects and year groups, you'll play an important role in maintaining continuity of learning when teachers are absent.
What will your day look like?
You'll be responsible for supervising classes when their usual teacher is unavailable, supporting pupils to complete the work provided and helping to create a positive learning environment.
You will:
- Supervise classes across different subjects and year groups
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure pupils remain engaged
- Set clear expectations and maintain a positive classroom environment
- Manage behaviour confidently, fairly and consistently
- Support pupils with their work where appropriate
- Encourage pupils to work independently and remain focused
- Liaise with teaching staff and provide relevant feedback
- Become a familiar and positive presence within the school community
Who are we looking for?
You do not need to be a qualified teacher.
Applications are welcomed from experienced Cover Supervisors, Teaching Assistants, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), Learning Mentors, or individuals with experience working with children or young people in other settings.
This role may also be suitable for individuals interested in pursuing a future career in education and seeking school-based experience.
