BEHAVIOUR MENTOR - ALTERNATIVE PROVISION

Location: East Lancashire (Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington, & Surrounding Areas)

Start Date: September

Pay Rate: £110 - £130 per day (PAYE)

Contract Type: Temporary with a view to Permanent

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a forward-thinking Alternative Provision (AP) in East Lancashire this September 2026.

What You Will Be Doing:

Providing 1-to-1 and small group mentoring to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Using positive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm, safe learning space.
Building trusting relationships to mentor students through personal and academic barriers.
Collaborating with teaching staff and pastoral leads to track student progress.

What We Are Looking For:

Proven experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, SEMH, or working within an AP/SEN setting.
High emotional resilience, patience, and exceptional communication skills.
A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to process a new one via PAYE).
