SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) | Tradewind Recruitment

Tradewind Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within their Specialist Resource Provision (SRP).

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, particularly Autism (ASC) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), within a structured and nurturing environment.

The Role:
You will be supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis within the SRP, helping them access learning, develop communication skills, and build confidence. You will also support integration into mainstream classrooms where appropriate, working closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and external professionals.

We're looking for candidates who:

  • Have experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASC and/or SLCN
  • Are calm, patient, and consistent in their approach
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Are confident using (or willing to learn) strategies such as visual timetables, PECS, or Makaton
  • Have a good understanding of early learning, phonics, and primary curriculum support
  • Work well as part of a team and are adaptable in a school environment

Experience in Early Years, SEN settings, or care work with children is highly desirable.
