PLEASE NOTE THIS ROLE IS TERM TIME ONLY AND YOU WILL ONLY BE PAID TERM TIME NOT IN THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS

Tradewind Recruitment are working on behalf of a local school and seeking a School Cook on a temporary part time basis. The role is to start ASAP. The working hours are Thursday and Friday, 8:00-2:00pm each day. The school is large school with excellent support. The pay scaled down in line with permanent salaries offered by the school.

The key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Ensuring a high-quality catering service is delivered to pupils, staff, and visitors to the school
  • Preparing and serving food, assisting with menu planning, weekly bookwork, ordering supplies, and stock control
  • Being involved in organizing theme days and other events to promote and develop the service
  • Ensuring all staff duties and tasks are completed to the highest standard of hygiene, health, and safety in food production and service areas to comply with company policies and procedures
  • Lead a small team and ensure that best practice is shared
  • Adhere to Allergen Policies and dietary needs and carry out briefings

The role requires:

  • Previous experience within a working kitchen environment
  • Demonstrable experience as a skilled Cook, ideally in a School or Nursery setting
  • A Food Hygiene certificate as a minimum Level 2
  • Excellent culinary skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • The ability to use your own initiative
