SEMH Teaching Assistant
SEN Intervention / Transition Teaching Assistant (Secondary)
Start Date: 23rd February
Location: Crosby
Hours: Full time
Contract: Until July (end of academic year)
Pay: £100-£110 per day depending on experience
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Intervention / Transition Teaching Assistant to support students as they reintegrate into mainstream secondary education.
This is a full-time role, starting 23rd February and running until the end of the school year in July.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about inclusive education and supporting pupils
The Role
The successful candidate will:
Deliver targeted interventions to support students' academic, emotional, and social development
Work closely with pupils who may be experiencing anxiety, SEMH needs, or other mental health challenges
Support students with transition and reintegration back into mainstream secondary classes
Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to support individual plans
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous experience working within SEND or a specialist setting
Have experience working with secondary-aged students
Have a background in mental health support, SEMH, youth work, counselling, or similar fields
Can provide calm, consistent support while maintaining clear boundaries
Are committed to helping young people rebuild confidence and succeed in school
Be patient, proactive, and committed to supporting young people
Demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills
with additional needs in a secondary school setting.
Be flexible and have no travel restrictions and

* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
* A full 10-year career history
