Job Title: Primary Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Key Stage: KS1 or KS2

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, positive, and caring Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school team to cover a period of maternity leave. This role would suit a teacher who brings both energy and calm confidence to the classroom and is committed to providing high-quality learning experiences for all pupils.

The successful candidate will be teaching in Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, so flexibility and confidence in working across early and later primary phases are essential.

Role Responsibilities

The successful Teacher will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across KS1 and KS2
  • Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the primary curriculum
  • Maintain clear expectations for learning, behaviour, and classroom routines
  • Create a calm, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Assess, monitor, and support pupil progress effectively
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support continuity and consistency
  • Contribute positively to wider school life

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Secure classroom practice and strong behaviour management
  • Experience or confidence teaching across different primary age phases
  • High expectations for pupil achievement and engagement
  • A warm, caring, and professional approach
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A willingness to be flexible and get involved in school life
  • A steady, calm presence that supports pupils' wellbeing
