About the Role
Are you a passionate educator interested in how society functions and how the human mind works? We are seeking a Social Sciences Teacher to join a thriving department in Edgbaston. This role offers an immediate start covering a one-year maternity leave, with a strong possibility of extension for the right candidate.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons in Psychology and Sociology, sparking curiosity and academic excellence across KS4 and KS5.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery: Design and deliver engaging lessons that bring Social Science theories to life for GCSE and A-Level students.
Full Teaching Cycle: Take full responsibility for planning, preparing, and marking, ensuring student progress is tracked and supported.
Departmental Collaboration: Work within a small, supportive team to share best practices and foster a stimulating learning environment.
Student Development: Create a safe, inclusive classroom where students are encouraged to thrive personally and academically.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Or an equivalent (e.g., QTLS).
Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
Subject Specialism: Strong knowledge of the Psychology and Sociology curriculum.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to engage students and collaborate with colleagues.
Open to All Levels: We welcome applications from both Experienced Teachers and ECTs.
