Job Description
SENCO - Primary School, Waltham Forest
Salary: Main Scale Pay 4-6
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: 6-week placement, 4-5 days per week, full-time, term time only
Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to support a warm and inclusive Primary School in Waltham Forest as they seek an organised, confident, and passionate SENCO to join their team for a short-term 6-week assignment starting in January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who thrives on making a difference for pupils with SEND and enjoys working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
The school is proud of its creative and balanced curriculum, placing equal importance on academic success, personal development, and pupil wellbeing. Leaders and staff work closely together to ensure the needs of all learners are met, and the successful candidate will be welcomed into a highly supportive team who value strong communication and inclusive practice.
The SENCO will take responsibility for coordinating SEND provision across the school, ensuring high-quality support for pupils, and liaising closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals. Key duties include managing EHCP processes, advising teachers on effective strategies, leading review meetings, and maintaining accurate SEND records. Applicants should hold the National Award for SEN Coordination or demonstrate significant SEN leadership experience within a primary setting.
This short-term role is ideally suited to an experienced SENCO who can confidently step into an established team and maintain excellent provision during a busy period. Strong organisational skills, a calm and proactive approach, and the ability to build positive relationships quickly will be essential.
If you are committed to promoting inclusive education and would like to contribute to a thriving school community, Tradewind Recruitment would be keen to hear from you.
