Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term
Salary: £90 - £120 per day (PAYE, dependent on experience)

Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Primary SEND Centre, Camden

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a welcoming and well-resourced Primary SEND School in Camden, known for its large, purpose-built Autism Centre that provides exceptional support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other complex learning needs.

The school is looking for a passionate and patient SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from January 2026, supporting pupils aged 4-11 to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

The Role

You'll work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver personalised learning and create a nurturing, structured environment where every child can thrive. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Helping children develop communication, social and emotional skills

  • Implementing visual aids, sensory strategies and behaviour support plans

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement in learning

  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and speech and language therapists

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience supporting children with autism or other additional needs (school or care setting)

  • A calm, positive and proactive approach

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine passion for inclusive education

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
