Job title: Science Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time Science Teacher in Driffield, starting January 5th 2026 and lasting until 13th February 2026 in the first instance, with the potential to increase in the future. Payment for this position will be between £168.80 to £261.77 per day (this is a daily rate scaled from the main teaching pay scale of £32,916 to £51047 per year). This is a temporary position.

This role will involve teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students. Ideally the school are looking for a Biology specialist, but would absolutely accept applications from candidates with other science specialisms. Planning and marking would be expected for this position, hence payment to scale. The ability to perform practical lessons would be hugely advantageous to ensure that students remain engaged and enthusiastic about their science lessons. There is a strong head of department in place which provides an encouraging environment.

Located in Driffield, there is a large onsite car park for candidates that do drive, and the school is easily accessible via public transport. The school is part of a growing, local academy trust, and as such has excellent links in place with other local schools with great reputations. Success in this position will lead to other opportunities in the future. There is a strong sense of community within the school, and they are looking for somebody to get immersed in the school life and join their team.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Have experience working within schools in the UK.
  • Have QTS
  • Has experience teaching Science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the full CV History
  • Legal right to work in the UK
