Early Years Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Location: Primary School, Whitefield (M45), Greater Manchester
Contract: Term‑time, full‑time
Role Overview
Tradewind Recruitment seeks a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to work within an Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) classroom in Bury. The role focuses on supporting children aged 2-5, including those with additional learning needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support alongside class teachers, especially in early communication, phonics, speech & language, and early literacy/numeracy
- Observing, documenting, and responding to children's development and progress
- Supporting behaviour management through positive, consistent strategies
- Assisting with transitions, maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
Person Specification
- Holds a relevant qualification such as Level 2 or Level 3 TA, NVQ, CACHE, BTEC or equivalent-preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience
- Demonstrates recent experience in Early Years settings (Nursery or Reception), including support for children with SEND
- Understands the EYFS framework and child developmental stages
- Communicates confidently and effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
- Exhibits a calm, patient, and caring approach
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to apply), plus proof of right to work in the UK and two professional references
