Student Support Assistants - Hounslow

Location: Schools and Colleges in Hounslow
Contract: Term-Time Only, September 2025 to June 2026
Working Days: 3 to 5 days per week (flexible)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking committed and enthusiastic Student Support Assistants to join secondary schools and colleges across Hounslow. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people in an educational setting.

Role Overview:

As Student Support Assistants, you will play a vital role in helping students aged 14 and over achieve their academic and personal goals. You will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to provide support tailored to individual student needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with a range of needs
• Support students in managing their learning and staying engaged in class
• Assist with organisation, time management, and emotional regulation
• Work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to implement support plans
• Promote inclusion and a positive learning environment
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to relevant staff

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

• A patient, understanding, and empathetic approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
• A genuine interest in education, teaching, or youth work
