English Teacher
Secondary School - Hillingdon, London

A thriving secondary school in Hillingdon is looking for a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team. This full-time position is available immediately, with the contract lasting until at least July 2025. The school is open to part-time applicants as well.

Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will inspire students to explore the world of literature, language, and communication. You will deliver engaging and challenging lessons to a range of year groups, helping students develop critical thinking, reading, and writing skills while fostering a love of literature.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English Language and Literature across various year groups, ensuring lessons are dynamic, inclusive, and stimulating.

  • Encourage students to develop strong analytical, writing, and speaking skills through a variety of literary texts and themes.

  • Create a supportive and positive classroom environment where students feel empowered to participate and share their ideas.

  • Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of students and ensure every learner can succeed.

  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level exams, guiding them to reach their full academic potential.

  • Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities such as reading clubs, drama productions, or after-school sessions.

Qualifications and Person Specification:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

  • A degree in English, English Literature, or a related field.

  • Proven experience teaching English at secondary school level.

  • A passion for literature and teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to fostering student growth.

  • Approachable, enthusiastic, and dedicated to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
