Special Needs Teaching Assistant - SEND School - Cognition and Fine Motor Skills - Full-time - Temp to Perm

Tradewind are currently partnered with a brilliant SEN provision in Houghton Regis, Luton who are looking to recruit a number of SEND Teaching Assistants to work with students across the school. These are full-time positions and you will be required to work from 8:45-3:15 Monday to Friday. These roles are temporary to permanent for the strongest candidates.

Our partner school in Houghton Regis caters for children with a range of SEND but predominantly those with physical developmental disorders including fine motor skills. You will be joining a large team of like minded individuals who have the best interests of the children at heart. You will work in classes across the school, providing support where needed; a flexible attitude is therefore vital for this school.

There will be plenty of on the job training delivered by the class teachers, SENDCO and the headteacher. You will have the full support of your team who genuinely want to see you progress and succeed in your role.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with children with SEND needs
• Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using a range of techniques
• Build strong relationships with parents
• Find creative ways to ensure learners are engaged
