Are you a kind, energetic, and nurturing professional with experience supporting children with ASD and behavioural needs? A fantastic primary school based in Angel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team in a split-role position.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position split across two key responsibilities:
- Morning: Supporting a group of Year 2 students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring their academic and social development in a nurturing and structured environment.
- Afternoon: Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD and behavioural challenges, fostering a positive and engaging learning experience tailored to their needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support their confidence and development.
- Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring children remain engaged and focused.
- Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
- Supporting the emotional and social development of pupils in both roles.
- Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent and effective support.
About You:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with ASD and behavioural needs in a school setting.
- A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- A proactive and positive attitude to overcoming challenges.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
