Year 2 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Morning) & Year 4 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Afternoon)

Contract: Full-Time

Are you a kind, energetic, and nurturing professional with experience supporting children with ASD and behavioural needs? A fantastic primary school based in Angel is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team in a split-role position.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position split across two key responsibilities:

  • Morning: Supporting a group of Year 2 students with Special Educational Needs, ensuring their academic and social development in a nurturing and structured environment.
  • Afternoon: Providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ASD and behavioural challenges, fostering a positive and engaging learning experience tailored to their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with students to support their confidence and development.
  • Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring children remain engaged and focused.
  • Implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
  • Supporting the emotional and social development of pupils in both roles.
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO to provide consistent and effective support.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children with ASD and behavioural needs in a school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive and positive attitude to overcoming challenges.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
