Full-time, Monday to Friday
£83.33 per day

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic special needs school in Ashford, supporting secondary-aged students with ASD and SEMH needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a nurturing, inclusive environment where you can help students thrive both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to secondary-aged students with ASD and SEMH needs, assisting with both learning and daily tasks.
  • Offer personal care where necessary, ensuring the well-being and dignity of each student.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement individualised education plans (EHCPs) and manage behaviour effectively.
  • Create a supportive, safe, and engaging environment that encourages students to reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel up to an hour for work.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly ASD and SEMH, is preferred.
  • Ability to provide personal care, including assistance with toileting and feeding, when required.
  • Strong communication skills, patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to undergo relevant background checks and obtain clearances.
  • Hold or be willing to apply for an enhanced DBS (child workforce) on the update service.
