At Tradewind Recruitment, we believe in the power of storytelling and the creativity of students. Recently, our schools participated in an exciting story-writing competition, giving young writers the opportunity to showcase their imagination and talent. From thrilling adventures to heartfelt tales, students poured their ideas onto the page, creating incredible stories that captivated judges and readers alike.
One outstanding story stood out among the rest, Super Rex, written by Max Byrnes from St Anne’s Year 7 class. Max’s imaginative tale was selected as the winning entry, earning him the incredible opportunity to see his story brought to life with stunning illustrations and professionally printed as a real book!
To celebrate this achievement, and to mark International Children’s Book Day, we are thrilled to share a special moment: Max proudly holding his winning book, Super Rex! His journey from writer to published author is a testament to the creativity and dedication of our students.
Why We Run This Competition
Encouraging storytelling among students is more than just a fun activity, it’s a powerful way to develop literacy skills, boost confidence, and spark creativity. Writing stories helps students:
- Improve writing and vocabulary
- Develop critical thinking skills
- Gain confidence in expressing ideas
- See their imagination come to life
By celebrating young authors like Max, we hope to inspire more students to pick up a pen and start writing!
Congratulations to Max and all the talented young writers who took part! Keep reading, keep writing, and keep dreaming.
