Job Title: Science Technician
Location: Merton, London
Salary: £XX,XXX - £XX,XXX (dependent on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term Time Only (36 hours per week)

Do you have the technical skills and organisational ability to help deliver engaging, safe, and effective science lessons?

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Science Technician to join the Science Department at a vibrant secondary school in Merton. You will play a vital role in supporting practical science teaching across KS3 to KS5, ensuring lessons run smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, set up, and clear away equipment and materials for science practicals

  • Maintain laboratories, equipment, and chemical stores in line with health and safety regulations

  • Support teachers during practical sessions when needed

  • Assist with inventory management, stock control, and ordering supplies

  • Ensure COSHH and risk assessment procedures are followed

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working as a Science Technician (or in a similar lab-based role)

  • A science-related qualification (A-Level or above preferred)

  • Good knowledge of safe lab practices and COSHH regulations

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • A positive, flexible, and team-oriented attitude
