Intervention Teacher and Mentor - Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
Secondary School in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire seeks an engaging Intervention Teacher to support pupils who require additional academic or behavioural support. Starting in September 2025, this role is ideal for someone with experience in targeted teaching, pupil mentoring, and/or SEN support.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored interventions in core and foundation subjects (literacy, numeracy, etc.)
- Work alongside staff to identify students who require targeted support
- Develop and implement individual learning plans
- Track progress, maintain records, and report regularly on outcomes
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, parents and peers
- Contribute to behaviour support and reintegration strategies
- Support extra-curricular programmes and attend off-site/home visits as required
Person Specification
- Level 3 qualification or higher; GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4+)
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Experience working with pupils facing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges
- Knowledge of SEN and behaviour management strategies
- Resilient, organised, and committed to pupil progress
- Driving licence and access to a car (desirable)
