English Teaching Assistant - Secondary School - Slough

Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term (September 2025 - July 2026)

An ambitious and welcoming secondary school in Slough is seeking a motivated and articulate English Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team from September 2025. This opportunity is particularly well-suited to recent English graduates or individuals with CELTA, EAL experience, or equivalent qualifications who are considering a career in education.

The Role:
This is a dynamic, hands-on role supporting students' progress in English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The English Teaching Assistant will work closely with classroom teachers and the wider English department to help raise attainment and build student confidence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting English lessons across a range of abilities
  • Delivering targeted literacy support to individuals and small groups
  • Assisting with the development of creative and inclusive lesson materials
  • Providing tailored support to students with additional needs, including those with EAL or SEN requirements
  • Helping students refine their reading, writing, and critical analysis skills
  • Tracking student progress and contributing to their academic development
  • Fostering a positive and focused learning environment
