Job Title: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Salary: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is working with a nurturing and inclusive school in Oldham that is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to support four pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour, including two non-verbal students.
This is a full-time, long-term opportunity starting in September, with the goal of gradually transitioning pupils from part-time to full-time education.
About the Role:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to four pupils with a range of needs
Assist with the delivery of tailored learning and behaviour support strategies
Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to support personalised learning plans
Create a structured, calm, and supportive classroom environment
Promote social, emotional, and academic development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with special educational needs and/or challenging behaviour
Confidence in supporting non-verbal pupils and using alternative communication methods (e.g., PECS, Makaton - desirable)
Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
A compassionate, resilient, and adaptable attitude
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
