Teaching Assistant with HLTA Responsibilities - Sheffield - September Start

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Sheffield to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a full-time role starting September 2025.

This position is for one-term initially, and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a dynamic school environment and may be extended for the right candidate.

The Role:

  • Full-time Teaching Assistant working across Year 1 to Year 6.

  • 2-3 days per week of Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) cover across various classes.

  • Supporting class teachers with learning activities, behaviour management, and pupil engagement.

  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of small group and one-to-one interventions.

Ideal for:

  • Experienced Teaching Assistants ready for additional responsibility.

  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to gain valuable, broad experience in one supportive school setting before securing a long-term teaching post.

  • Confident practitioners who are adaptable, reliable, and enthusiastic about supporting pupils across the primary age range.

Requirements:

  • Relevant TA or HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience).

  • A proactive attitude and excellent communication skills.

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply through Tradewind).

  • Two professional references.

The school is based in Sheffield, easily accessible by public transport and car.
