Job title: Primary SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Chelmsford
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: £450-£500 a week
Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? Join our team at a mainstream primary school in Chelmsford as a SEN Teaching Assistant working on a 1 to 1 basis. You'll support children from Early Years to Key Stage 2, working closely with teachers and staff to create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering creative activities that support children's development.
- Aid in the social, emotional, and academic growth of children, particularly those with SEN, including Behavioural and SEMH needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.
- Observe, assess, and track the progress of individual children, maintaining accurate records.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure holistic support for the children.
- Ensure safeguarding and health & safety regulations are consistently followed.
- Support the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and activities.
What We're Looking For:
- Relevant qualifications in Drama, Dance, Psychology, English, Sports Science, or similar.
- Previous experience in a school setting, youth clubs, or after-school clubs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, patient, and caring attitude towards children.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
