Job Title: Full-Time School Caretaker
Location: Secondary School - L15, Liverpool
Salary: Dependant on experience
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Start Date: As soon as possible
About the Role:
Tradewind are recruiting on behalf of a secondary school in L15 for a reliable, proactive and hardworking Caretaker. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the school premises are safe, secure, well-maintained, and ready to support effective teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Opening and locking up the school site daily
General maintenance and repair of school buildings and grounds
Liaising with contractors and overseeing on-site works
Health & safety checks, including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and risk assessments
Ensuring heating, lighting, and alarm systems are in good working order
Setting up rooms for school events and exams
Maintaining cleanliness in key communal areas
Monitoring stock levels and ordering maintenance supplies when needed
The ideal candidate will:
Previous experience in a caretaker, site manager, or maintenance role (desirable)
Good understanding of health & safety practices
Practical DIY skills (painting, plumbing, basic repairs)
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Reliable, punctual, and proactive attitude
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one prior to starting)
