Are you a passionate and resilient Primary Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a specialist ASC/SEMH school in the Leigh area, and we are seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join their team from September.
About the Role:
You will be working with small groups of primary-aged pupils who have a diagnosis of Autism (ASC), Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs (SEMH), or related additional needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation strategies, and a flexible, nurturing approach to teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of pupils with ASC/SEMH.
- Promote emotional regulation, resilience, and social development.
- Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team including SENCOs, support staff, and therapists.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, helping them feel safe and supported in their learning environment.
- Maintain regular communication with parents/carers and contribute to EHCP reviews and progress reports.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with ASC/SEMH, either in mainstream or specialist settings.
- Strong behaviour management skills and a compassionate, patient approach.
- A commitment to inclusive education and a belief in every child's potential.
