Job Description
An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Newham is seeking a motivated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their inclusion team. This full-time role is ideal for someone experienced in youth mentoring, behaviour support, or alternative provision and who is passionate about creating a safe, structured, and empowering environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
Support students who are at risk of exclusion or disengagement
Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
Help implement individual behaviour and support plans
Work with teaching staff to support classroom engagement and transitions
Support students' emotional wellbeing and provide mentoring sessions
Requirements:
Previous experience working with secondary-aged students with behavioural needs
An understanding of SEMH and barriers to learning
Resilience, patience, and strong communication skills
A commitment to helping students build confidence and resilience
