Job Description

An ambitious and forward-thinking secondary school in Newham is seeking a motivated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor to join their inclusion team. This full-time role is ideal for someone experienced in youth mentoring, behaviour support, or alternative provision and who is passionate about creating a safe, structured, and empowering environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students who are at risk of exclusion or disengagement

  • Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques

  • Help implement individual behaviour and support plans

  • Work with teaching staff to support classroom engagement and transitions

  • Support students' emotional wellbeing and provide mentoring sessions

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with secondary-aged students with behavioural needs

  • An understanding of SEMH and barriers to learning

  • Resilience, patience, and strong communication skills

  • A commitment to helping students build confidence and resilience
