Part-Time Humanities Teacher - Alternative Provision School
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: Competitive, aligned with the teacher's main pay scale (London fringe) and based on experience
Contract Type: Long-term with potential for a permanent role
Start Date: April 22nd (after Easter)
Hours: 2 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays)

Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher looking for a role where you can make a real difference? We are seeking a dedicated educator to join our supportive Alternative Provision School in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Our school provides a nurturing and focused learning environment for students, with small group sizes of no more than six pupils.

About the Role:

  • Teach Humanities subjects up to GCSE level, tailoring lessons to meet individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement engaging, student-centred lesson plans.
  • Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to students and their guardians.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

What We're Looking For:

  • A degree in Humanities or a related subject.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, though relevant teaching experience will be considered.
  • Experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
  • Strong communication and classroom/ behaviour management skills.
  • A commitment to supporting students with diverse educational needs.
