SEMH Teaching Assistant - KS1 - Leyton, Waltham Forest
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Would you like to make a real difference in a vibrant primary school setting?
Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a large and welcoming primary school in Leyton, Waltham Forest. This full-time role, starting in April 2024, offers a daily salary of £90-£95 and provides an excellent opportunity to support KS1 pupils with SEMH and learning difficulties.
The Role:
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them to engage positively with learning and social interactions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for children with SEMH and learning difficulties.
- Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities to ensure all pupils can access the curriculum.
- Implementing behaviour management strategies to promote positive engagement in lessons.
- Encouraging pupils' emotional and social development through tailored support.
- Liaising with SENCOs, teachers, and external professionals to ensure the best possible support for pupils.

Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH and learning difficulties, ideally in a school setting.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils.

A patient, empathetic, and nurturing attitude.
