SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) - SEN School in Medway

Are you an experienced SENCO looking for a new challenge? A dedicated SEN-only secondary school in Chatham is seeking a resilient and passionate SENCO to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a setting that supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role:

  • Lead on SEN provision across the school, ensuring the best outcomes for students with moderate SEN.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide high-quality support for pupils.
  • Support behaviour management strategies and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with SEN legislation and maintain effective EHCP processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS and relevant SEN experience.
  • Previous experience as a SENCO or in a similar leadership role within an SEN setting.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to work in a challenging environment.
  • A resilient, proactive, and solution-focused approach - someone who can take things on the chin and remain positive.
