ASD Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Long-Term Role in SEND School

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school in North Liverpool. This is a full-time, long-term role where you will be supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who require significant support, including personal care.

About the Role: As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children with ASD, providing both educational and personal support. You will play a vital role in helping students with their academic progress, social skills development, and personal care needs. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with ASD.
  • Assist with personal care routines, including toileting, dressing, and feeding, where necessary.
  • Help students engage in classroom activities, supporting their learning and development.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, other teaching assistants, and specialists to create a supportive environment.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavioural strategies.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
