Art Teacher for Alternative Provision School
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: Competitive, aligned with the teacher's main pay scale in the fringe area, based on experience

Are you a creative and passionate Art Teacher looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? Our Alternative Provision School in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our team and inspire young learners through art.

You'll be working with small groups of up-to a maximum of 6 students at a time in a unique learning environment at an Academy rated by OFSTED as 'Good' in all areas, with Outstanding Features. This well-funded, small school of only 50 students has excellent facilities and resources with parking available on site.

  • Have recent teaching experience and good references.
  • Be passionate about teaching and have strong classroom management skills.
  • Be offered a fixed, temporary contract for the rest of this academic year (with the possibility of permanent employment after 1 year)
  • Be paid in-line with the Main Pay Scale for London Fringe (£33,074 - £50,470 PA on the qualified teacher scale)
  • Unqualified teachers are welcome to apply if you have relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging Art lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Help students achieve their full potential by providing guidance on creative techniques and processes.
  • Develop and maintain individual education plans for students.
  • Regularly assess and monitor progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to support a collaborative learning environment.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is preferred, but we welcome applications from experienced Art educators.
  • Experience teaching Art at any level.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective classroom and behaviour management strategies to create a positive learning environment.
  • A genuine passion for helping students with diverse needs thrive in their education.
