We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate One-to-One Support Assistant to work closely with a pupil who may display challenging behaviour and requires additional academic support.
Key Responsibilities:
As a One-to-One Support Assistant, you will:
Provide Individualised Support: Offer personalised assistance to a specific pupil with challenging behaviour, ensuring their unique needs are met.
Behavioural Support: Employ effective strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Academic Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to implement tailored academic support plans, addressing the pupil's specific learning requirements.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess and document the pupil's academic progress and behavioural development, providing feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
Communication: Maintain open and clear communication channels with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in the pupil's care and education.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and other support staff to implement interventions and support strategies effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Understanding of strategies for managing challenging behaviour and promoting positive reinforcement.
- Knowledge of academic support techniques and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
