Science Teacher Position at Alternative Provision School
Location: Hatfield, Hertfordshire
Salary: Based on experience, aligned with the main teacher pay scale in the fringe area
Contract Type: Long-term, with the potential to become permanent
Start Date: January 2025
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join our Alternative Provision School in Hatfield, Hertfordshire. Our school offers individualised learning experiences for 60 students, with a maximum of 6 students per class. Science is delivered up to GCSE level, though many students are focused on vocational qualifications.
Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher, you'll be responsible for designing dynamic and engaging lessons tailored to each student's unique learning needs. Working alongside our passionate team of educators, you'll play a vital role in supporting the educational journey of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality science lessons up to GCSE level
- Design and maintain personalised education plans for each student
- Provide regular progress updates to students and their families
- Track and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and other key stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, but teaching experience is also valued
- Experience teaching science up to GCSE level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting students with individual learning needs
