Are you an experienced Behaviour Support TA looking for a new role in Camden? Or are you a TA seeking a new challenge supporting children who have social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a resilient Behaviour support TA to join this supportive secondary PRU in Camden. This is a full time, long-term role starting ASAP for the full academic year and upon review there will be an opportunity to go permanent.

The School:

The school is a specialist therapeutic and educational placement for children who cannot attend mainstream school because of social, emotional and mental health needs, or who have been permanently excluded from school.

All pupils have SEND in relation to their social and emotional development and mental health, including developmental disorders, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Many also have SEND related to their cognitive skills (e.g. specific learning difficulties)

Students are taught in small classes and supported by trained and committed staff

As a Behaviour Support TA you will be responsible for the below:

  • Managing behaviour and following the schools behaviour policy
  • Supporting students in class, small groups and on a 1:1 basis
  • Encouraging and promoting student engagement in learning activities
  • Contributing to support plans and strategies to meet the needs of each student
  • Collaborating with staff, parents/carers, and outside agencies
  • Monitoring and recording student progress and achievements

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children who have SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Patience and resilience
  • An Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
