Are you an experienced special needs teaching assistant seeking a new position? Tradewind Recruitment are working with a boys Special School situated in Birmingham, supporting KS1, KS2 and KS3 pupils. All pupils at this school have Special Educational Needs or an Education Health Care Plan.

We are looking for candidates who are experienced in supporting young people who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour. Team Teach training is also desirable.

The right candidate will have:

  • Experience of working with children with SEMH
  • Experience supporting challenging behaviour
  • Some experience of supporting children in Literacy, Numeracy and working with SEND
  • A good understanding of child development and learning processes
  • The ability to be a great team player and be able to work independently and use initiative
  • An open-minded and inquisitive approach to the job but the ability to work to agreed strategies and procedures
  • The ability to develop and sustain positive relationships with children, fellow staff members and families
