Job Description
On behalf of our client school, Tradewind are seeking a passionate and qualified teacher to lead a KS1 class on a full-time basis from January. This role is open to both ECTs and experienced teachers with career progression potential no matter what stage of your journey. Role: KS1 Teacher
As the KS1 teacher, the successful applicant with be leading a Year 2 class, full-time from January until the end of the academic year with the possibility of an extension.
The class comprises of around 30 children of mixed ability with low EAL learners and an average percent of SEND pupils. There will additionally be a shared TA to help drive progress through informed interventions and 1:1 support where necessary.
We are looking for:
- A teacher with direct experience in KS1 (Year 2 ideally) who understands the curriculum and National Standards
- A background in RWI phonics or willingness to learn the scheme and it's effective delivery
- A nurturing teacher who will build strong relationships with the children, staff and families based on trust and mutual respect
- A teacher with an understanding of White Rose Maths and Oxford Tree Reading schemes to support reading for pleasure
- Flexible and adaptive teaching methods to meeting the needs of individual children incorportating visual, audio and kinaesthetic techniques into classroom learning
- A great communicator, team player and someone willing to fully immerse themselves into all areas of school life.
All applicates must have QTS and teaching experience in KS1. In addition, you will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and will need to provide 2 references that demonstrate your excellence in the primary classroom.
